When we first landed, Isaiah was SO excited watching all the goings on outside the plane and he woke his brother up with his jubilant exclamations. When Josh woke, Isaiah excitedly pointed out things outside the window, saying "Look Josh we're in Oregon!! See that guy driving backwards?! It's cause we're in Oregon!".
One day we took a 2.5 hour drive to visit friends and family in La Grande, telling the boys where we were going, about a million times a long the way. When we reached our destination (a friend's house), Isaiah excitedly jumped out of the car, frantically looking around he said "MOM! I don't know which one of these buildings is La Grande!!".
I was talking to my niece one afternoon, she was telling me about her pink bedroom and I made the comment that I needed to have a little girl so I could paint a room pink. A few minutes later Isaiah pulled me aside and said "Mommy, you can paint my room whatever color you want. You can even paint it pink, as long as you paint it red and blue too". I told him I didn't want to paint his room pink, but he was so sweet to say that and he said, "Ok mommy, but if you change your mind, you really can paint it pink". It was so so stinking sweet and nearly made me cry but I made a point to tell him how mommy always wanted two boys (I really did), that God gave me them both and I was so happy to have them. Then I made a mental note not to talk about wanting a little girl in front of them anymore, the last thing I want is to make them feel like I didn't want them, because I did (do), a lot. :) I just love his sweet little heart.
Sitting at the gate forever on the plane to come home Joshua was saying he didn't want to leave Oregon. Isaiah looked outside (it was raining) and looked at Josh saying "Joshy, it rains every day and every week in Oregon, that's why Alaska is better so we have to go home".
Finally, I wish I had gotten a picture, Joshua thought the tray tables where "pillows" and he kept trying to fall asleep with his head (only his head) resting on one. Apparently he didn't find it comfortable because he eventually moved to laying his head on my lap, watching him try to get comfortable was pretty funny though.
Haha, this picture cracks me up. Joshua didn't want to get his picture taken so he made this horribly sad face and Isaiah decided to copy him. This was at the fish hatchery near Cascade Locks. |
